About Vasanta Vihar

Vasanta Vihar is the headquarters of the Krishnamurti Foundation India. It exists for a single purpose: to enable people to stay and study Krishnamurti’s teachings — through the library, video screenings, and serious dialogue with others on the campus.

Your presence on the campus is expected throughout your stay. Guests may leave the grounds only in the evening between 4:30 and 7:00 pm for personal work.

Accommodation is offered only in service of that enquiry. Because a very brief stay cannot honour this, the minimum is three nights — and the campus should not be used as a transit point for other destinations.

Simple, thoughtful arrangements — everything needed for an undistracted few days with the teachings.

Accommodation

Single and double non-AC rooms with attached bathroom are provided. Depending on occupancy, you may be asked to share a room with another guest.

Please bring your own towel and soap

The Study & library

At the heart of the campus is The Study — a library holding Krishnamurti’s books, recordings, and study materials. This is where much of your time on campus may be spent.

Campus presence

Your presence on campus is expected throughout the day. Guests may leave the grounds only in the evening between 4:30 and 7:00 pm for personal errands.

Minimum stay

Guests are asked to stay for a minimum of three nights. — a very brief stay cannot serve the purpose the campus exists for.

This is not a transit point for other destinations.

Pricing Per night, per person : ₹ 750 /-

This includes accommodation and food. Payment can be made on arrival.

Check-in & check-out

The main gate is closed between 10 pm and 5 am. If arriving on a late-night flight, please stay at the airport and check in after 5 am. Similarly, guests departing on late-night flights must check out by 10 pm.

Guidelines
for guests

Vasanta Vihar is a shared space of enquiry. These simple guidelines help maintain the quality of attention that makes the retreat possible for everyone.

Dress modestly. Clothing such as shorts, mini-skirts, or revealing attire is considered inappropriate in all common areas outside your room.

Use mobile phones only in your room — not in the Study, retreat venues, dining hall, or any other shared spaces on campus.

Non-vegetarian food, cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited on the campus premises.

Please be punctual for all programmes and meals. The kitchen staff and other participants depend on everyone keeping to schedule.

Switch off lights, fans, and water heaters when your room is unoccupied. Simple mindfulness with resources is appreciated.

Lock your room when away. Do not leave passports, cash, or valuables unattended. Depending on group size, you may be asked to share a room.

Dining hall

Vegetarian meals are served throughout the day. Punctuality for meals is expected — the kitchen staff and fellow guests depend on it. Please be at the dining hall on time.

All timings are fixed. Please plan your day accordingly.

Getting to
Vasanta Vihar

Pre-paid taxis and autorickshaws are available at both the airport and railway stations. Ask for Greenways Road — not Greams Road. Vasanta Vihar is located opposite the residences of State Ministers and High Court judges.
